Booster Volunteer Opportunities

Axemen Home

The following committees are to support booster activities and funding for the football teams. Each activity is assigned a leader to recruit parent help and complete the activity. Please take a look at the committees and let us know where you would like to volunteer.

It is important that as many parents get involved as possible. If we don’t have enough parent involvement, we won’t be able to provide the support needed to enhance the football program. Our funding provides additional equipment and programs that are very important to keep our teams competitive, while promoting the highest standards of spirit and sportsmanship.

We need your help!
If you are interested in volunteering for any of the following committees, please contact the name listed below or Booster Secretary Karen Gaffney at karengaffney@comcast.net or 344-2073.

Axemen Booster Club Officers
The club is a private non-profit, and has three officers: President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The President is the chief executive officer, presides over all meetings of the club, and may do other duties as needed. The Secretary gives notices of all booster meetings, records minutes, is the custodian of records, and may do other duties as needed. The Treasurer keeps accurate records of all property, receipts, and disbursements of the club in financial records, is responsible for deposits and disbursements, provides financial reports, ensures that necessary state and federal reports are filed, and may do other duties as needed.

Concession Stand
Spice up your football experience by preparing and selling fun food at the concession stand at the turf field during home games. You can help at one game or many games. We need enough parents for concessions to be open for freshman, JV, and varsity games. Contact Julie and Ralph Golf at ralph1581@yahoo.com

Spirit Wear
Assist in the selection, ordering, sales, and storage of clothing, accessories, and other promotional items featuring the Axemen logo. Also, work sales shifts during the kick-off picnic, community events, and at freshman, JV, and varsity games. Contact Traci Hansen at traci.l.hansen@gmail.com

Field Signs & Sponsorships
Work with chairperson to obtain business and other ads to be displayed on signs at the field and in the game program. Other sponsorship needs will be identified and pursued by the members of the committee and coaching staff. Contact Dan Ambrose at Dan.Ambrose@ambro.com

Coupon Card Sales
This great fundraiser just needs one or two parents to coordinate it over the summer, and the players will do the rest! The Booster Club will order materials, contact business sponsors, and keep track of the sales, and the coaching staff will work to motivate the players to sell the cards. We are still looking for a chairperson, so for now contact Karen Gaffney at karengaffney@comcast.net

Photography
Help make sure the season lives on in photos by recruiting and coordinating volunteer photographers for freshman, JV, and varsity games, and then working with the website coordinator to post photos and make them available for use during the season and for the end of the season banquet. Contact Katherine Murray at 541-465-9671.

Travel Meals
Support the players and coaches directly by recruiting volunteers to pack meals and/or contribute food (or funds to purchase food) for freshman, JV, and varsity games that are more than a one-hour drive from the school. To help with Varsity meals contact Kathy Barnes at kathrynsbarnes@gmail.com and to help with JV contact Paula Rini at prini@windermere.com. We are still looking for a freshman coordinator — if you are interested, contact Dani Emrick at de@pacinfo.com

End of Season Banquet
Work with the coaching staff to plan a special recognition banquet for the players. The Coaches plan the program part of the event, and the Boosters arrange the decorations, food, set-up, and clean-up. We are still looking for a chairperson, so for now contact Theresa Sterkel at sterkel6@msn.com

Website
The website is the hub for our Booster Communication, and this small group will work on collecting content from other committees that needs to be posted, and keeping the site up-to-date for parents and fans who are looking to support the Axemen! Contact Richard Jones at richardj311@comcast.net

Senior Recognition
This annual event is an opportunity to recognize our players who are in their senior year. This group will work with the coaches to plan the actual recognition, gather information on the players and their families, and coordinate the logistics for the event. Contact Tamara Richardson at olafdsughters38@yahoo.com

Homecoming
The football program is a key part of the fall Homecoming celebration. This group will work with the school and coaches to help make Homecoming a memorable event. Contact Maureen Still at mafstill@aol.com

Travel Coordinator
This person will work with the coaching staff to help with any logistical details for the away games. We are still looking for a chairperson, so for now contact Karen Gaffney at karengaffney@comcast.net

Cookie Dough Sales
This fundraiser is a great way to engage players in fundraising, and at the same time provide some high quality cookie dough and snacks for friends and family. This takes a couple of parents who are willing to get materials to the coaches for distribution to players (who will gather orders for cookie dough), compile information and money from the individual orders, then distribute the cookie dough to the players. This fundraiser can be totally organized and wrapped up in a month! To help, contact Jill Banks at jill@greenline-ent.com

Barrel Bottling Fundraiser
This is a really fun way for the parents to raise funds and have a good time together while they are at it! This requires some parents willing to distribute order forms, gather orders, and coordinate distribution of cases of wine. Event takes place in July.
