The Grants Pass Cavemen came out on top of an overtime thriller.
The Axemen took a 3 point lead to open overtime, and appeared to
have stopped Caveman star Craig Dolmage on fourth down. The spot
surprised much of the crowd, and gave the Cavemen a first down by an
estimated 2 inches. Dolmage scored the winning touchdown on the next
play.
The Axemen
held Dolmage, who had rushed for 924 yards in the first five games
of the season to 74 yards in regulation. Logan Beal had a terrific
game at quarterback for the Axemen, completing 19 of 21 passes for
173 yards and a touchdown.
